Construction

Two rows of balls share one spherical raceway in the outer ring. That spherical seat lets the inner ring and ball set tilt a few degrees inside the outer ring while still running smoothly.

Load capacity

Mainly radial load with light axial load. Lower capacity than a roller bearing of the same size, but very low friction and tolerant of mounting misalignment.

Typical applications

Long transmission shafts that deflect, textile machinery, farm equipment, fans, conveyors on bases that are not perfectly flat.
