Construction

Rubber transmission belts with tensile cords, driving by friction between the belt flanks and the pulley groove. Classical V-belts A/B/C/D/E are classified by section (top width × height): A 13×8, B 17×11, C 22×14 mm. Sections D and E are quoted two ways depending on the standard: D 32×19 or 32×20 mm, E 38×23 or 40×25 mm. Narrow wedge belts SPZ/SPA/SPB/SPC and 5V/8V have a taller section relative to their width. PK belts carry multiple longitudinal ribs for automotive accessory drives.

Load capacity

Belts have NO d – D – B dimensions. A classical V-belt is specified by section + length: the number after the letter is the inside length (Li) in inches — B60 is a B-section belt with a 60-inch (1,524 mm) inside length. PK belts give rib count + length in mm: 6PK1200 has 6 ribs and is 1,200 mm long. When replacing, read the code printed on the back of the old belt.

Typical applications

Agricultural machines, rice mills, pumps, industrial fans, compressors, automotive accessory drives.
