Construction
A cast-iron housing supplied complete with its bearing, bolted straight onto the machine frame — no precision bore machining needed. Classified by housing shape: P two-bolt pillow block, F four-bolt square flange, FL two-bolt flange, FC round flange, T adjustable take-up, with PA/PH/FA/FB/HA variants. The SN/SNU family is different: a split plummer block whose cap lifts off, taking a 222xx/223xx spherical roller bearing on an adapter sleeve, for heavy duty.
Load capacity
A unit is specified by shaft size d, centre height H, base length L, bolt-hole spacing J and bolt size. note: for the UK family (adapter-sleeve mounted) the shaft size is not the size number × 5 as it is for UC units — it must be read from the bore of the sleeve supplied with it.
Typical applications
Conveyors, farm machinery, fans, food-processing lines, packaging lines; SN units for large fans, mining conveyors and crushers.
