Construction
A slotted steel sleeve with a 1:12 tapered outside and a cylindrical bore. Driven into the tapered bore of the bearing and tightened with a KM locknut and MB lockwasher, it grips a plain shaft — no shaft shoulder and no machined interference fit required.
Load capacity
The sleeve carries no load; its job is location. Shaft size = the sleeve bore, which is encoded in the designation: H2315 fits a 65 mm shaft, H311 a 50 mm shaft. This is the single most common look-up mistake.
Typical applications
Supplied with K-suffix spherical and self-aligning bearings, SN/SNU plummer blocks and UKP/UKF/UKT units.
